About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Quantum Physicist to join our Quantum Research & Development team. In this role, you will lead groundbreaking research in quantum computing, quantum sensing, and quantum materials while mentoring junior researchers and contributing to our mission of advancing quantum technology for real-world applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research Leadership: Lead and execute cutting-edge research projects in quantum physics, focusing on quantum computing algorithms, quantum error correction, or quantum sensing technologies
  • Innovation Development: Design and develop novel quantum systems and protocols that push the boundaries of current quantum technology
  • Collaboration: Work closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and fellow physicists to translate theoretical insights into practical implementations
  • Publication & Dissemination: Publish research findings in top-tier scientific journals and present at international conferences
  • Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior researchers, PhD students, and interns in their research endeavors
  • Grant Writing: Contribute to research proposals and grant applications to secure funding for quantum research initiatives
  • Cross-functional Projects: Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate quantum solutions into commercial products

Required Qualifications

  • Education: PhD in Physics, Quantum Physics, Quantum Information Science, or related field
  • Experience: 5+ years of post-doctoral research experience in quantum physics or quantum information science
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Deep understanding of quantum mechanics, quantum computing, and quantum information theory
    • Strong background in at least one of: quantum algorithms, quantum error correction, quantum communication, or quantum sensing
    • Experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#, or similar)
    • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or similar scientific computing tools
  • Research Excellence: Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals (Nature, Science, Physical Review Letters, etc.)
  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond or other quantum sensing platforms
  • Background in quantum optics, atomic physics, or condensed matter physics
  • Familiarity with quantum hardware platforms (superconducting qubits, ion traps, photonic systems)
  • Experience with quantum simulation and optimization algorithms
  • Track record of successful grant applications and project leadership
  • Industry experience in quantum technology companies or startups
  • Strong programming skills in C++, Julia, or Rust
